Q&A

Question from Paul S.

"Who owns the code, infrastructure, and accounts?"

3 min read

You do.

You're paying me to build things, but they are your things. I'm here to help you, to set things up, and to maintain them for a while, but it's your company.

Why You Need Ownership

If I own the infrastructure and the code, that creates risk for you. I might like the control, but that's not good for you.

So yes, everything we subscribe to should be yours:

  • Every account
  • Every repo
  • All infrastructure

I'll set them up, but they live under your control.

Planning for Growth

My job is to get you to a point where a team can take it further. That means you need ownership from day one.
