## Question

Can someone really build a full MVP in two hours with AI?

## Answer

Yes, you can build something in two hours with AI. No, that doesn't mean you built a product. Both things are true, which is why this topic makes people argue past each other.

I love what AI does to speed. A few hours can now produce what used to take days: screens, auth, database tables, basic workflows, maybe even a deployed demo that doesn't immediately embarrass you. That's real. But the speed moved the goalpost.

## The Bar Got Higher

Before AI, a rough MVP could get away with being very rough because building anything took effort. Now the rough version is cheap, so the question changes. If AI can make the old week-long prototype in two hours, what should a week of work look like now? Probably not a sloppy demo with three broken buttons and a signup form that emails nobody.

The MVP should still be small, it should still reduce risk, and it should still get you into the feedback loop quickly. But it can also be more complete, more polished, and less annoying to use.

## Fast Is Not The Same As Done

Building is only one part of the equation. Testing matters, validation matters, product thinking matters, and the boring edges matter because users live in the boring edges.

AI made fast easier. It did not make careless better.
